Expanding Horizons

About the founder

Mrs. Kalpana D Kumar Founder/ Director of Kare therapy center Correspondent Kalpadhaksha.

She is a speech and language pathologist who passed out in 2010 from Madras ENT Research Foundation. She has worked in organizations such as Vidya Sagar, Srishti, and MERF as a consultant speech pathologist, though she was working with children with special needs at therapy centers.

She always questioned herself as to how these children with alternative abilities can communicate with the outside world, will they have the opportunity to interact with the other typically growing children. Will they be able to express themselves in the way they can and can the regular teachers understand their abilities? This is what motivated her to visit traditional schools and approach them for inclusion.

She also thought that the child needs professionals who can communicate with the teachers and help them comprehend the different difficulties that a child faces, why learning difficulties occur, and the etymology behind the diagnosis of childhood disorders. She has also done her certification course in learning disability from the MADRAS DYSLEXIA ASSOCIATION, sensory integration certification, and PG diploma in therapeutic play skills from (the COLLEGE OF ALLIED EDUCATORS – Singapore).

She strongly believes that all the professionals helping children’s needs must have holistic knowledge and must be active in communicating with the other professionals as we need to learn different methodologies and strategies in helping children, as each child is different.

About Us

Where Learning Begins with Wonder

At Kalpadhaksha Montessori Schools, we believe that education is not just about acquiring knowledge — it’s about nurturing the whole child. Rooted in the authentic Maria Montessori philosophy, our schools provide a joyful, respectful, and stimulating environment where children are free to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace.

We are committed to creating a space where curiosity is encouraged, independence is nurtured, and confidence is built — all through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. Using low chowkis and floor mats, our classrooms are designed to support natural movement, focus, and responsibility, helping children develop essential academic skills as well as emotional and social intelligence.

We use chowkis (low tables) and mats to create a hands-on, independent learning space where children are truly engaged. Our curriculum fosters focus, discipline, and love for learning from an early age.

🌱 Our Educational Philosophy

Our Educational Philosophy

We follow the time-tested Montessori method because we believe that children are naturally eager to learn when placed in the right environment. At Kalpadhaksha:

  • Learning is child-led and joyful

  • Each child is treated with respect and individuality

  • Mixed-age classrooms foster leadership, empathy, and collaboration

  • Learning materials are tactile, purposeful, and rooted in real-life context

Through this approach, we build strong foundations — not just for academics, but for life.

Our Vision: Building Confident, Compassionate Citizens

Montessori is not just a method — it’s a way of life. Our goal is to raise children who are:

Independent Thinkers

Emotionally Balanced

Academically Strong

Socially Responsible

Creatively Curious

Adaptable and Future-Ready

“We don’t just teach subjects — we help children discover who they are.”
